Bachata

Bachata is a style of social dance which comes the Dominican Republic which is now danced all over the world. The basic step involves an eight-count side-to-side movement, with many variations and styles that can be added. On counts 4 and 8, bachata includes an exaggerated hip movement or a tap.

The dance started in the mid 20th century and over the years has evolved into a number of different styles.
